KAREN LOTTER

Karen Lotter has had an extensive career in Fine Art and Interior Design.

She studied Fine Art and History of Art at the Johannesburg Art Foundation, under the tutorship of Bill Ainslie, Ricky Burnett and William Kentridge. An apprenticeship with pioneering South African interior designer Helen de Leeuw, led her to open the Carriage House Gallery for Helen during which time she personally created and curated many exhibitions of well-known South African artists and craftsmen.

In 1995, Karen founded Wilde at Heart Interiors with its extensive portfolio over almost 25 years including residential and commercial interior design and product development and has been featured in local and international publications including Elle Decor, Habitat Magazine, House & Leisure, Garden & Home, IE Magazine, Conde Nast House and Garden and the London Times.

Her work has included classically inspired interiors incorporating fine art and antiques, contemporary modern design and award-winning, state-of-the-art, corporate innovation spaces.

 

SUZIE COPPERTHWAITE

Born and raised in Johannesburg, Suzie Copperthwaite has a Masters degree in Fine Art and has worked in the industry for over 15 years.

She has worked for and with major local auction houses and has collaborated with artists and leading commercial galleries. Suzie has served consulting and curatorial roles on important local contemporary art fairs including Turbine Art Fair and Art Joburg (formerly Joburg Art Fair) that continue to offer a critical platform to showcase exceptional talent from South Africa and the continent.

Suzie has been assisting individual and corporate clients through sourcing and collections management services for many years and continues to do so as a partner in The Proof Project. She applies her passion and knowledge of both the primary and secondary markets to sourcing investable works of art for collectors of all levels and creating access to the rich and dynamic art community.
